Yeungjin University Korean Language Center, in collaboration with the Northern Police Department’s External Affairs Division, successfully conducted a crime prevention education program for foreign exchange students on Wednesday, June 14th, at 2 p.m.

This education program was organized in collaboration with the Yeungjin University Korean Language Center and proved to be highly beneficial in raising awareness among students from diverse cultures and nationalities about the importance of crime prevention.

The education program, which commenced at 2 p.m., involved the active participation of police officers from the Northern Police Department. The primary objective of this education program was to provide information on crimes that foreign exchange students may encounter and to guide them on preventive measures. The program covered various topics, including safety in residential areas and schools, road safety and traffic regulations compliance, as well as the protection of personal and financial information. Practical guidance on minimizing crime patterns and reducing victimization was also provided through real-life case studies.

A representative from the Northern Police Department stated, “International students play a crucial role in our society’s diversity and cultural exchange, and ensuring their safety is our responsibility. Through this education program, we aimed to minimize the risk of foreign students being exposed to crime and assist them in leading safe lives.” Both the Northern Police Department and Yeungjin University Korean Language Center expressed their commitment to strengthening communication and understanding with International students through continued collaboration, with the shared goal of fostering a safe and inclusive environment where diverse cultures coexist.

International students appreciated the heightened awareness about crime prevention and acknowledged the value of the education program, as they acquired knowledge and practical strategies for safer living. It is anticipated that through the expansion and continuous organization of similar educational initiatives, the safety of International students will be ensured, thereby promoting their social integration.

Moving forward, the Northern Police Department and Yeungjin University Korean Language Center pledge to enhance their partnership through sustained educational cooperation, aiming to strengthen relationships with foreign exchange students and provide a secure and enriching learning and living environment through crime prevention education.

This recent crime prevention education program serves as an exemplary collaboration between the local community and educational institutions, setting a precedent for the implementation of similar programs in other regions.
